Random thoughts since the 60th launch... Wow! This amazing 60th Disneyland "Pressed Penny" set (pictured above) may prove to be one of the most popular collections in elongated coin history. Interest shown by visitors here at ParkPennies is even higher than it was back in 2005 for the 50th Magical Milestones pressed penny collection. The popularity of this collection may be in part inspired by the scope of the collection. When complete in 2016, the 60th collection will reportedly contain a total of 60 different coins, 54 pressed cents and six pressed quarters, a very large collection even by Disney standards. Matter of fact, this collection will better the size of the enormous 50th Magical Milestones collection by ten coins! The set is also desirable to some collectors because it is well defined with every pressed coin in the collection sharing the exclusive and exceptional 60th Diamond Celebration stampbacks. (Both penny and quarter versions of the 60th reverse are pictured above.) Of course, a pressed penny collection can't be popular if the machines can't be found. So, for the 60th the Disneyland Resort introduced pressed coin machine location brochures that have made finding every 60th coin press machine easy... (Even for people that don't know about the ParkPennies Machine Locations Page. :-) So, if this collection isn't already the most popular elongated coin collection in history because of the theme, size, and execution, the millions of 60th coins that will be pressed over the Diamond Celebration should clinch it.

As many ParkPennies readers know, collecting these inexpensive treasures can be a fun adventure and make for some wonderful memories too. But don't delay in collecting this set... The old saying "Get while the gettin' is good, there is no better time than now." really applies here. We have heard people in the know say that twelve of the thirteen 60th coin press machines are, barring any unforeseen issues, planned to be available for the life of the Diamond Celebration. However, the thirteenth machine, the "Decades" penny press machine, is planned to change coin designs every four weeks to 60 days. Yes, we've heard from multiple sources that six sets of three pressed pennies each will retire before the end of the Diamond Celebration! Luckily, Disneyland coin press machines, unlike some other unnamed theme park's machines, are exceptionally well maintained. (We really do read your "unnamed theme park" machine status emails! :-) So, chances are you'll be able to press all the coins onstage in a single day and add future Decades coins as they arrive during the Diamond Celebration event. (The Decades press is located outside the park gates in Downtown Disney. No admission required.) If you are reading this article after the Diamond Celebration has ended and all the machines are retired, and you are looking to complete your 60th collection... We hope this guide will be of help. And, if history is a guide, as time passes these coins will probably become harder and harder to find. So, do "Get while the gettin' is good, there is no better time than now."
