DL0678 Retired Haunted Mansion Banner pressed quarter or elongated coin image. Raven sits atop a sign that reads: "THE HAUNTED MANSION" DISNEYLAND ® PARK, © DISNEY, wire style border. This quarter set replaced the DL465-467 Haunted Mansion quarters which did not return after the DL0512-514 2011 set of NBC quarters were retired. First on-stage 1/25/12 as the DL0518. On about 7/05/12, the stampbacks for this set of pressed quarters were rotated for the first time. The reverse on this coin was changed from Phineas Queeg to Gus Gracey retiring the DL0518 and making the DL0525. The machine returned in Mid-January of 2018 with a video marquee and a second rotation (the third pairing) of the back dies changing the Gus Gracey reverse to Ezra Dobbins and creating the DL0678. (On about 10/07/2018 this coin was replaced, by the DL0690 Nightmare Before Christmas pressed quarter. Because the NBC sets are temporary, this Haunted Mansion may have returned after Halloween Time. But, did not. ) The machine was temperamental. It seemed from the very start Disneyland Arcade Techs were in a constant battle to keep the very popular machine pressing full image coins. As reported by Randy K. in late August of 2018, these high demand Haunted Mansion souvenirs had also began to show flaws possibly from coin die damage / breakage / heavy use / end-of-life. First on-stage 12/11/19, at The Port Royal Curios & Curiosities Shop, New Orleans Square in the coffin quarter press. Please note that the earliest versions of the Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary set, the DL0702, DL0703 and DL0704, have stampbacks that are slightly off-center and are oriented in the same way as the obverse of the coin. The later versions (post February 21, 2020) of these coins, the DL0708, DL0709 and DL0710, feature a well-centered reverse that is opposite the orientation of the obverse. Or as Boomer is hopelessly trying to say, "If the front and slightly off-center reverse are right side up when the coin is rotated horizontally, side to side, it's the DL0702, DL0703, or DL0704. But.... if the front and well-centered reverse are right side up when the coin is rotated vertically, end over end, it's the DL0708, DL0709 and DL0710 set.
