DN0054 Haunted Mansion
Arcade Shop Prototype Quarter. Horizontal pressed quarter. DISNEYLAND ® RESORT, THE HAUNTED MANSION, Picture of the gated mansion with a full moon overhead. This die has no "e" for Eurolink and appears to be an etched image as were the Arcade Shop dies of the time. We believe it to be a Shop coin that was never placed onstage or used for a Cast Member event. Looks much like the DL0520.
Reverse: Blank or "Retired". (This Disneyland pressed coin number made with the possibly now canceled#DNP0051.0.0 obverse elongated coin die in its original "0" state / variation, paired with a blank "0" reverse coin die.) Larger prototype elongated coin image in
frame or window # 123

Not closely similar to any other elongated coin, prototype or onstage. Very scarce.
Reverse: Blank. (This Disneyland pressed coin number made with the possibly now canceled#DNP0056.0.0 obverse elongated coin die in its original "0" state / variation, paired with a blank "0" reverse coin die.) Larger prototype elongated coin image in frame or window # 123or Giant Image

DN0081 Diver Goofy in Diving Gear Bob Johnson Prototype pressed penny. Vertical pressed penny image. Arcade Shop Etched version of the CM0039, MACHINIST DIVER, 40 YEARS OF SERVICE, BOB JOHNSON, Diver Goofy in diving gear, DISNEYLAND PARK, wire border. [Inscription corrected 3-2022] Made by Bob Johnson's son, a longtime Disneyland Arcade Tech, for his father's retirement. Examples known on dimes, nickels, quarters and tokens in very limited quantities. We believe as plans for the retirement party grew, the three coin dies, CM0039, CM0040, and CM0041 (as shown in the Cast Member Pressed Coin Guide) were engraved outside of the Arcade Shop and displaced this early design. Reverse: "BOB JOHNSON, DISNEYLAND, 40 YEARS OF MAGIC" with an etched image of a diver in the center of the reverse above "40 years of magic". (This Disneyland pressed coin number made with the possibly now canceled#DNP0078.0.0 obverse elongated coin die in its original "0" state / variation, paired with this coin's "1" or first reverse coin die, BOB JOHNSON, DISNEYLAND, 40 YEARS OF MAGIC.) Cruella De Vil, from the Dalmatians movie, Disney D23 EXPO 2011, "D" for Disneyland at the top of a wire border, 50 at the bottom of a wire border for the 50th Anniversary of the movie. There may have been five approved designs for the 2011 event. Only three are known to have been engraved. This D23 EXPO coin die was delivered to Disneyland for use in a Disneyland Resort coin press machine, supported by Disneyland Arcade Shop (Electro Mechanical Shop) Cast Members during the event. DL0251DNRsc Steel Cent Main Street USA Pressed Penny prototype stampback DL0251DNR Horizontal prototype elongated coin reverse image. [Reverse] DISNEYLAND no ® repeated four times in a "dot matrix print
style". This is a Disneyland Neverland reverse (DNR), steel cent variation (sc) on a DL0251 die coin. Image courtesy of
the N. Wooten Collection.
In keeping with the Disney tradition of providing a better quality souvenir, in 2004, Disneyland introduced the DL0251 back stamped nickel. With this introduction, Disneyland became the first Disney Park to ever offer two sided elongated coins, also known as "Mules". This coin appears to be evidence of early experiments with varied "back dies", "back shafts" or "stampback" engravings with its DL0251DNR reverse. DS0008DNr Electro Mechanical
Mickey 2005
Never Issued Reverse. DS0008DNr Horizontal pressed nickel backstamp or reverse. MERRY CHRISTMAS in script, KEN, GEORGE, EVERETT,
KATHIE, GLENN, ROB, BOYD, DAVID, JEFF, RODELIO,
LAURA, DANNY, STEPH, ROGER in
animation block typeface, FROM ALL OF US.
Note: This elongated coin die combination, obverse / reverse, is listed as a prototype vs. test roll / Neverland reverse because the coin would have been issued as engraved if not for the needed last minute addition of names. We do not feel this reverse was experimental, a test, or a "progressive pressing".
