Disneyland's Famed Framed
Elongated Coin Collectibles

Of all the Disneyland "pressed penny" or elongated coin collectibles, framed sets are on the top of the list for many Advanced Collectors. They are exclusive, often contain scarce coins, are easy to display, and can also feature hard to find Disneyland penny press machine related signs, murals, or even Disney hand painted art. Sometimes the framed collections acknowledge special projects like the Disneyland Resort Magical Milestones pressed pennies or the Disney California Adventure 10th Anniversary pressed dimes. Occasionally, framed sets include the original penny press machine coin die, artwork, or signage making a one of a kind Disneyland Resort treasure.

Based on trusted sources, we believe all these framed sets were designed by Disneyland Resort Cast Members. Some pieces were made on site by Disneyland Resort Cast Members. Other framed sets were made to order for Disneyland by a longtime Disney partner picture framing company. These treasured displays were then usually presented to active or retiring Cast Members as awards, thank yous, or gifts / family keepsakes a few were offered for sale, auction, or as a contest prize.

Scarcity and demand for these framed collections can often make for high market values. A Cast Member coin collection as shown above by Bill Hogarth or Jack Steiner have fetched more than two thousands dollars each; a Magical Milestones penny collection with penny press machine art or park signage, has brought in the four figure price range. However, every once in a while, we hear stories about the estate sale or Disneyana show where a framed collection was found at a bargain or gifted by a Cast Member. So, keep an eye open and don't give up hope! :-)
