(COVID-19 NOTE: On March 14, 2020 The Disneyland Resort (Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney) closed. On November 19, 2020 Downtown Disney, including World of Disney, reopened making the DR0195, DR0196, DR0197, DR0198, DR0199, and DR0200, pressed coins available again. On November 19, 2020, Disney California Adventure's Buena Vista Street area including part of Hollywood Land and Grizzly Park was reopened as a no admission and no "rides" shopping and dinning extension to Downtown Disney. Not all pressed coin machine locations in the area were accessible. However, the initial Buena Vista Street extension did still make the CA0144, CA0145, CA0146, CA0156, CA0157, CA0158 CA0171, CA0210, CA0173, CA0165, CA0166, CA0167, CA0265, CA0266, and CA0267 pressed coin machines available. (The CA0217, CA0218, and CA0219 Finding Dory coin press location at the Kingswell Camera Shop (Elysian Arcade) was accessible. However, the machine was offstage presumably pending the arrival of the DCA Seasonal Nickel machine, finally returned to occupy the recently vacated DCA0265-267 2020 yearly set machine cabinet on 1/13/2021.) On December 4, 2020, an additional shopping location in the BVS area, Off The Page Gifts, reopened making the CA0159, CA0160, and CA0161. On December 16, 2020 Gone Hollywood Gifts reopened on certain days making the CA0223, CA0224, CA0225, CA0232, CA0233, CA0234, CA238, CA239 and CA0240 also available, only to be reported closed again by 2/1/2021. On March 14, 2021 the Buena Vista extension to Downtown Disney was closed to make way for the Touch of Disney event. By 3/17/2021 the three machines located in the closed Gone Hollywood Gift Shop were moved to the Disneyland Resort Backlot Premiere Shop aka Studio 17, a part of the Downtown Disney extension. On March 17, 2021 it was announced that the DLR would open on April 30, 2021.

"Early" Pre-Conversion vs. "Late" Post-Conversion
In early 2023, ParkPennies received a most welcome collector submitted inquiry regarding the pre and post conversion CA0217, CA0218 and CA0219 Finding Dory pressed coin reverse images. Such reports / inquires are valued contributors to the accuracy and completeness of this website. So, a comparison of the CA0217-219 reverses and a similar comparison of the CA0217-219 obverses were made by ParkPennies and two well-known advanced collectors. The comparisons did in fact reveal a definable differences in design length between these two otherwise identical sets. However, even after close examination, we could not attribute the observed variations to a change in the coin dies. (Overlooking die wear and related small detail debris fills, both the obverse engravings and reverse etchings presented defects which could be matched between respective coins in each set, strongly suggesting that no coin die changes had been made.) Additionally, the later coin examples exhibit a slight stretching or smearing of coin details. Possibly the change in the coin type from copper to zinc and / or the new machine process / adjustments may have produced slightly longer elongated coins? Given these variations are not at this time attributed to a change in the obverse or reverse coin dies, but rather the quality of the machine "roll", no additional guide numbers have been assigned. A reevaluation of the early / late CA0217-219 set is not anticipated, but is possible if additional observations / evidence is submitted. Advanced collectors may wish to include the "Late" post-conversion CA0217, CA0218 and CA0219 zinc cents in their collections if of interest to them.
Note: The early, pre-conversion pressed cent comparison images are of common, complete, copper "full rolls". Accordingly, they are physically longer / larger with a complete design including a prominent coin grip notch detail and clear margins. Later, post conversion coins shown tend to be "short rolls". Often the design "runs off" one end and sometimes the grip notch is missing at the other end of the coin. Therefore earlier "full roll" examples may be larger coins and have full images, even though the actual images they feature are smaller / shorter than what could be seen on later coins if the coin were a "longer press". Black, parallel lines have been added to images for size reference. This listing supplement is expansive to explain collector thoughts to date and invite additional comments.    (Contribute to the conversation, contact Boomer.)

Pressed Quarter Set October 12, 2017
