Ron Dominguez retired in August of 1994 after 39 years of service for The Walt Disney Company. He was really was a local boy. As many Disney fans know, he didn't grow up near Disneyland. He grew up where Disneyland is, because his family owned much of the land that Disneyland was built upon. Mr. Dominguez attended Anaheim High and later college as a Business Administration major. We're told he started as at Disneyland as a ticket taker when the park first opened. The rest is history. We have heard that he a wonderful retirement party at the park, tables were set with symbolic inscribed red handkerchiefs signifying Ron's membership in the Order of the Red Handkerchief as an early Rainbow Caverns Mine Train operator and... drum roll... Ron Dominguez pressed pennies!

On a personal note, we've heard nothing but good things about Mr. Dominguez. That's saying a lot. Past Cast Members have shared favorite stories about Mr. Dominguez, some funny and some very impressive, all good. For us, the best story is the one about the first Disney Cast Member to be featured on a pressed penny. :-) Although the folks at ParkPennies.com have never had the pleasure of being introduced to Mr. Dominguez, we have seen him around the park from time to time. Mutual friends tell us he truly is a nice guy. Personally, I loved riding on the Rainbow Caverns Mine Train with my folks and all the Disneyland magic that has followed over the years.
