Disneyland’s First Haunted Mansion Quarter Press Machine

On February 6, 2005, this long awaited "penny" press machine, once featured on the now sadly closed Disneyland Arcade Shop web site, has arrived! Need we mention that fellow Disneyland pressed penny, Haunted Mansion, and NBC collectors have been asking for any news, even a premonition? Now it’s here and complete with a ghostly image of our favorite hitchhiking companions, , Phineas Queeg, Ezra Dobbins, or Gus Gracey, each on the back of a coin in this set!

At the time of this writing, the cabinet is barely visible from the high traffic walkway just a few feet away and is themed so much like other fixtures in the shop. Anyone without good (ParkPennies.com Pressed Penny Smiley ) location information might walk right past it. Matter of fact, an "advanced collector" I happen to know, (Boomer), walked through the Le Bat en Rouge shop and missed finding the machine the first time. ParkPennies hopes you’ll find this machine before it joins the spirit world of retired pressed pennies.
Update: Now Boomer claims he saw it, but, thought it was a Disney designer coffin for advanced Disney elongated coin collectors!

The original set of quarters offered by this machine, DL0268, DL0269 and DL0270 are described below. Since it's debut, the coffin penny press has offered many different Haunted Mansion quarters and Nightmare Before Christmas elongated quarters. DL0268 Vertical pressed quarter or elongated Disney coin image. This is a smaller, outlined version of the DL0465 coin image. Replaced the DL0255. First on-stage February 6, 2005.
Reverse: Type I lightly etched Ezra Dobbins the Ghost. (This coin made from the same die as the DL0341. The difference between the two coins is in the reverse. Both coins have the same ghost on the reverse of the coin. However, the ghost on the reverse of this coin has a different, lighter, muted, image of the featured ghost.)

This is a smaller version of the DL0466 coin image. Replaced the DL0256. First on-stage February 6, 2005. Reverse: Type I lightly etched Phineas Queeg the Ghost. Both coins have the same ghost on the reverse of the coin. However, the ghost on the reverse of this coin has a different, lighter, muted image of the featured ghost.)
