The First Disney Coin of the Month "Pressed Penny"

Tokyo Disneyland pressed penny coins of the month were first offered by any Disney Resort. Matter of fact, to the best of our knowledge, this was the first location in the world to offer a "pressed penny" Coin of the Month (COM) Series. The original coin of the month penny press machine was placed in the Tokyo DisneySea Park section of the Tokyo Disneyland Resort in April of 2005. Soon after, the very popular DisneySea penny press machine was followed by two more Coin of the Month pressed penny machines located in the Tokyo Disneyland Park section of the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. To the surprise of many collectors, as of 2010, the Tokyo Disneyland Resort is still the only Disney Resort in the world to offer a coin of the month series. A series that collectors in the USA had hoped for since 1998.
