DL Disneyland Park Set Collection CA Disney’s California Adventure Collection DR Disneyland Resort Hotel and Downtown Disney Coins

If you are not planning to build a collection of all Disneyland Resort pressed pennies or elongated coins, then this is The Collection.

All of these coins are or were available to the general admission guests at Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure. The DR or Disneyland Resort Hotel and Downtown Disney coins usually did not / do not require even the purchase of an admission ticket. (Many people have excellent Disneyland Resort Hotel and Downtown Disney elongated coin collections without ever having purchased a park ticket or pass.)

Although this collection includes only coins that were on-stage, some of these coins were not on-stage long. A few of them are harder to find error coins and some are hard to spot slight variations of others. With very few exceptions, every one of them could be or could have been purchased for a dollar or less, most for 51 cents, if you were there at the right time. (A Penny Collector First Edition book, also known as The First Edition Pressed Penny Book, was issued in 2000 featuring an exclusive coin in the cover of the book. Cost $7.50 at the park.)

The very costly, very limited and very hard to find Prototypes as well as the Cast Member coins which were not available to the general public are not part of this collection. Also the Disneyland Wannabes or "Tributes" that mention the park but, are for the most part unlicensed, are also not part of this set. This collection is just the good old core coins, the coins generally thought of by the typical park guests when pressed pennies are mentioned.

Today, if you have to purchase any of the "hard to find coins" in this set, the cost would most likely be a few hundred dollars or less each.
