The Haunted Mansion themed pins at the top of this section were styled after the three pressed quarters pictured above. The two Hollywood Tower Hotel / Tower of Terror pins were styled after the pressed pennies or elongated coins shown. See also: The Hollywood Tower Hotel prototype pressed penny page and similar Haunted Mansion pressed quarters.
Advanced elongated coin collectors and Disney Fans will note that these pins are in error as are the coins below them. The Tower of Terror is, of course, in Disney California Adventure, not Disneyland as written on the pins. I know, some of you are thinking they could have gotten half credit if they would have said "Disneyland Resort"? Others are saying let's give them full credit, they copied the error coins near perfectly? :-)
The ToT pressed pennies pictured were never placed on stage because of the error. To read a bit about them and see their corrected replacement coins you may visit our Disneyland Tower of Terror Pressed Penny Error Set page. |

The second set of WDI pressed penny style pins stayed true to the coin types that inspired their designs. All were pressed pennies or cents as are the Disney pins. Matter of fact, some may say the WDI pins are an improvement of the Disneyland pressed penny designs in that they all feature dot or bead borders. |

The third set or series of Walt Disney Imagineering pressed penny style pins draw from a variety of Disneyland park elongated coins. The set features pins based on three " Disneyland Seasonal Pressed Nickels", a favorite series for many elongated coin collectors. Of interest, this year Disneyland is late in placing the Seasonal Nickel set onstage, so these WDI "Seasonal Nickel" pins were the first to arrive. |
