The Tokyo DisneySea "Pressed Coin" to the right is an example of the many collections within a collection. For several years now, The Tokyo Disneyland Resort has offered Coins or "Pressed Pennies" of the Month. Although many collectors want to collect all the coins issued at Tokyo Disneyland, some specialize in collections within the complete collection. Here is a link to an overview of Disney elongated coins and the many collections within a collection.

Editor's note: We are often reminded that the preferred numismatic term for these Tokyo Disneyland souvenirs is "Medals". However, many avid collectors are known to use the words pressed pennies, as well as elongated coins, nickels, flattened, crushed, squashed, rolled, mashed, smashed, stamped, squished, smushed, stretched, memory, keepsake or pressed coins when describing these fun "pressed penny" souvenirs.

TDS0834 Penny Calendar
We believe this to be the first Disney calendar to feature a "pressed penny" or medal. Released at Aunt Peg's Village Store, Tokyo DisneySea, in September of 2008, this Duffy, The Disney Bear, 2009 calendar contains an easily removable "Duffy The Disney Bear" elongated souvenir. To our knowledge, the purchase of this calendar is the only way to obtain this Duffy medal. Given this is an actual souvenir medal, unlike the simulated pressed medals offered in the early Tokyo Disneyland penny collecting books, the coin qualifies as part of the complete Tokyo Disneyland collection and has the guide number TDS0834.
