Framed Decades Pressed Penny Set

This Cast Member 1955-1964 60th Anniversary Decades framed pressed coin collection was reported to be one of just eight made. As you can see, the specially created one-of-a-kind 1955-1964 penny press machine artwork is center surrounded by a set of all onstage 60th Anniversary pressed coins. We believe each of eight framed sets was created around one of the eight custom art pieces made especially for the onstage Decades coin press. The eight different pieces of artwork and matching coin sets were themed Opening Day*, 1955-1964 (above), 1965-1974, 60 Years of Holiday Magic, 1975-1984, 1985-1994, and 1995-2004.

As collectors may have found, the Decades souvenir coins are some of the most difficult to collect. The Decades pressed coin machine offered all of the eight different Decades coin sets over the length of the Diamond Celebration. All other Disneyland Resort coin press machines offered just one coin set for the full length of the 60th Anniversary. So, each set of three coins of "Decades Coins" was onstage for only about eight weeks. The rest of the Disneyland Resort 60th pressed coins were onstage for from about May 21, 2015 to September 30, 2016.

*Rumors suggest that possibly one of the Decades framed sets was made with specially pressed nickel versions of both 60th cents and quarters. If you have a picture of that rumored framed nickel set... please let us know.

A 60th Anniversary Decades "mural" is shown in a close up above. It can also be seen inside the 1955-1964 Decades themed penny press, if you look closely. Only the Decades coin press had different sets of coins during the 60th Celebration or custom art work for each set. All other 60th pressed coin machine through out the Disneyland Resort offered only one set of coins and shared a standard blue Diamond Celebration patterned mural. Reportedly, the retired one-of-a-kind murals were featured as the center pieces of the framed Decades sets as shown above.
