(Often called Pressed Penny or Elongated Coin)

This is one of the first three coins reported at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. They date back to about 1996 and are often a prized addition to most any Tokyo Disneyland Medal or "Pressed Penny" collection. Note: When making your attribution of this hard to find Type I coin, please refer to the scarce and very similar TDLVT01-T2 (TDLVT01 Type II). Which is believed to be a late on-stage replacement for the TDLVT01. The TDLVT01-T2 was also repeatedly reissued in years starting in 2003 as a nickel variation, the TDL0301
All three of these coins, the TDLVT01 and TDLVT01_T2 (Copper) / TDL0301 (Nickel), are very similar in design and appearance. To view a detailed comparison of them, click here
Update 2006: The once rare TDL0301 nickel has been repeatedly "reissued" at TDL much to the horror of TDL collectors. "Reissuing" now appears to be a common risk with non-dated TDR medals.

Note: When making your attribution, collectors are advised that this scarce Type II coin is believed to have been an on-stage replacement for the very similar, hard to find TDLVT01 (TDLVT01 Type I) and was reissued in 2003 as a scarce nickel variation, the TDL0301.
