Subject: (elongates) [EC_Discussion] Welcome To The New List
Date: 30 Sep 1998 14:36:41 -0700
Welcome to the new list!
I have moved everyone over that I knew about. You all are getting each
message at this point, and not the Digest.
If you would like the Digest version:
1) Send an email to: macjordomo@solution.fgm.com
2) Place "SET Elongated_Coins DIGEST" in the BODY of the message
(without
the quotes)
3) You don't need any information in the TITLE of the message.
4) If you have any problems, check to see if you have a signature block
(you know, where your email program appends your name, address, etc at
the bottom of your emails) and remove it.
I have concealed all your addresses and double checked this. This means
if you send a REVIEW command to the Elongated_Coins list, it will NOT
report anyone's email address or name. You can change this if you want.
I
will include the commands you can send to the server below, so you can
check them out.
This is a free service, done in my off hours. If something goes wrong,
please document it and send the information to me at
creightoniii@home.com. I will do everything possible to assist.
I want to thank Ben, Melinda, Bob and Nancy for their testing (and
putting up with my spam test messages). Their efforts helped us get the
list running! We will have some tuning to do over the next few weeks, so
stick with me as I refine everything. The current Digest size is 16K,
meaning when 16K of messages come in, the next Digest goes out. There's
a
bug in the Once-Per-Day Digest, so that is not available at this time.
We
may increase the Digest size if we see to many messages coming out. I am
on a Macjordomo Mailing List now, and staying current on bugs, fixs,
upgrades, etc. More than you probably wanted to know.
I'll sign off and let you all test this out. Please put the new email
address into your Address Books, and use the new list. I will be away
from the server next week, but don't expect any problems. See you
online!
Bert
(Please DON'T reply to the address I am sending this from, use
creightoniii@home.com if you need to reply offline from the List -
Thanks!)

Hi Everyone,
It appears things are working for us on the new list. There are a few
email addresses which are no longer valid and I am getting SPAM bouncing
back from their postmasters. I hope you all are not getting these too!
I will fix the old addresses tomorrow.
Here's a new Canadian Report, just in from a friend online:
The Queen of Surrey Ferry, which travels the Sunshine Coast has a
machine
and the Queen of New Westminister which runs between Vancouver and
Nanaimo has a machine.
I will have samples to scan in soon.
That's it for now!

Farm...
I think they have special designs around Halloween (someone correct me
if
I am wrong).
I won't be there, but thought I would throw this out for you all to
possible set up some trades with...

I thought that mutilating currency was illegal in Canada. Are these
planchette machines or are they placed by a bunch of outlaw gypsies who
simply
laugh at the thought of hard time making little rocks out of big rocks
as a
punishment for this heinous crime.

The Ferry machines take in Canadian coins (.51) and slip in a US coin
(zinc or copper) to be smashed! It is LEGAL to smash US coins in Canada
-
go figure!

Good idea, but I believe the only thing I have ever seen was
"Knott's Scary Farm" and it was in a machine with "Knott's Berry
Farm" and "Knott's Merry Farm" at the Candy Kitchen, and available
all year round. If anyone finds something else, I'd be interested
in one!
