Mickey Mouse Coins
A Fun Disneyland Souvenir Collection

Mickey Mouse coins or elongated Mickey Mouse coins as they are often called are surely a favorite of many Disney pressed penny collectors. ParkPennies.com, as you can see, is also partial to them. Pressed Penny Smiley

The Mickey Mouse coins, elongateds, or pressed pennies above, could make a fun addition to most any Mickey Mouse souvenir collection. And these are just a sample of just one style of Mickey Mouse pressed penny of many. You may recognize them as the "Mickey Rays" image that was featured on the classic Mickey Mouse Club TV show. This classic artwork, as shown above, is featured on several of the first Disney elongated coins introduced in the 1980's. Here is a link to our early Disneyland elongated coin guide.

Because there are so many Disney elongated coins, a very nice collection could be made of just Mickey Mouse coins, just Donald Duck coins, just Haunted Mansion, Nightmare Before Christmas or even just Disney Trains... However, once you have the "bug" you might want to collect them all. Collections are also often focused on just one Disney park. For example, you might choose to exclusively collect them at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Hong Kong or of course, all of them! Pressed Penny Smiley

As a sample of a specialized collection, above are the first five known "Mickey Rays" coins plus the 2012 tribute to the early Mickey Mouse coins. They are all attributed to The Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, the original home of Disney "pressed pennies". But, there are many many more "Mouse" coins at Disneyland not to mention the other Disney parks.

If you’d like to build a collection featuring any Disney character, please surf the ParkPennies Elongated Coin Guides or use the Google Search box at the top of many of the main pages. When you view the guide pages, you’ll see a thumbnail image with a link to a close up view of every known Disneyland coin with descriptions and guide numbers. You may compare different coins by using the "Frames Yes" link at the top of the guide pages. The guides arrange the coins by park and within each park the coins are listed chronologically. There are also guides with listings of Prototype coins and coins that were made as "Tributes". Whether you choose to build a set of very hard to find high value coins or a set of coins that can be pressed today for 51 cents each, outside the gates of the parks, chances are you’ll have a great time. Happy collecting!
