The Tokyo DisneySea
TDS0513 Type I and Type II Medals

(Often called Pressed Penny or Elongated Coin)

We hope the images above and the ParkPennies.com TDS Tokyo DisneySea Guide sections below will help collectors identify / differentiate these two very similar coins or medals as they are called in Japan. Key points for attribution are in the replacement die, the type II, a diamond shaped decoration with a center line which ends nearer the bottom of the design when compared to the type I (Arrow to the left). Also the type II has a different hair grouping that is less defined than the type I (center arrow). When looking closely at the two coins, especially when they are held in hand with a loop, many other minor differences in devices are visible. However, comparing the two diamond shapes is, in our opinion, one of the better ways to identify / distinguish between the two coins when only one of them is present.
