1996-1998We just had to display a Coin of the Month here! I know one collector that has done everything he could for many years to persuade Disneyland, USA to offer a Coin of the Month with no luck. Then to my, er ah, his surprise, in April of 2005, Tokyo DisneySea started a Coin of the Month series! DisneySea was joined by Tokyo Disneyland in July of 2005. Matter of fact, in January 2006, Tokyo Disneyland added another Coin of the Month to the series for a total of three! Well, hopefully the coins are up to date, it often takes us a little (too much) time to add the latest coins.

Editor's note: We are often reminded that the preferred numismatic term for these Tokyo Disneyland souvenirs is "Medals". However, many avid collectors are known to use the words pressed pennies, as well as elongated coins, nickels, flattened, crushed, squashed, rolled, mashed, smashed, stamped, squished, smushed, stretched, memory, keepsake or pressed coins when describing these fun "pressed penny" souvenirs.
