Tokyo Disneyland Medal or Pressed Penny Close-up

The Tokyo Disneyland Park Medal
TDL9912 Known as "Millennium Mickey" or "Mad Mickey"

(Often called Pressed Penny or Elongated Coin)

This coin has stirred up a bit of a controversy among some Disneyana collectors. Often called "Mad Mickey", this coin has found it's way into collections that focus on the "unusual" rather than just the elongated. Of course, true Mickey Mouse fans know that Mickey has only four fingers. However, it has been said that some park guests still mistook his pointing gesture resulting in a short onstage appearance.

We hope the image above and the ParkPennies.com TDL Tokyo Disneyland Guide sections below will help collectors identify this coin. For your reference, we also have an extreme (er) close up of the above picture. (Although for most one picture is enough.)

This is one of the coins that has a few nick names. ParkPennies.com has chosen to avoid most of them. We have added a detail close up of this coin for your consideration.
