The 10th Anniversary greeted Disney elongated coin collectors with a new reverse and the first set of pressed dimes for Disney California Adventure! The original plan as rumored was that this set of elongated dimes would be on stage until February 8th, 2012, which is the start of Disney California Adventure's 11th Anniversary. However, as noted in the guides, machines were taken off stage in a rotation often replacing the 10th Anniversary stampbacks with "Disney California Adventure stampbacks". Only dimes with the 10th Anniversary stampbacks are part of the official Disney California Adventure 10th Anniversary set.

Although these 10th Anniversary 10 cent pieces use the previously existing, well-known penny press dies, they have a new life pressing dimes and feature a Disney California Adventure 10th Anniversary backstamp or reverse. Very cool! As longtime collectors will remember, the first Disney reverse wasn't introduced until 2004 and given most of the penny press machines at DCA predate 2004, few have any stampbacks at all. So, these dimes will make neat additions to your collection... or maybe even a collection of their own?

Onstage pricing was in line with the first dimes ever offered at any Disney Resort, the Disneyland ToonTown set of three pressed dimes. Once you paid admission to the park, the 10th set dimes are priced at 85 cents each including the dime to be pressed. At the close of the Anniversary celebration, a total of 37* dimes had been issued. So, for less than $35.00, a complete set of 10th Anniversary dimes could have been made.
*(Technically, based on the pressed coin stampbacks or reverses, 12 sets of dimes with three coins each, plus the Lightning McQueen CA0113 dime with the Cars logo added and the CA00101a-3a modified pressed dime set of three... plus one set of three pressed quarters and one set of pressed pennies make the full collection. All are listed below for the truly advanced collectors. But, 37 pressed dimes with three pressed dime versions of the 10th Anniversary pressed cents is the "Official Disney California Adventure 10th Anniversary Cast Member Presentation Pressed Coin Set" as pictured in the Cast Member DCA 10th Anniversary Pressed Coin framed set. We are also trying to chase down a picture of an all nickel framed set! All presentation pieces are very scarce. If you have one of these framed sets, please share a picture. )

After the coins were taken offstage, word of Cast Member framed sets leaked out. Possibly 11 framed sets were given to Cast Members that were close to this special project. Each framed set featured a set of dimes from a different dime press at top center above back art from a 10th Anniversary penny press machine circled by all the dimes in the set. The Disney California Adventure 10th Anniversary pressed dime set enjoyed a warm welcome by both collectors and park guests. Excitement built while the machines were being rolled out, emails to ParkPennies.com often included guesses as to the next pressed dime machine location or an enthusiastic report of a newly found 10th Anniversary pressed dime machine. However, all of the machines were dime presses. There wasn't a single Disney California Adventure 10th Anniversary pressed penny machine to be found. Then, on May 25, 2011 the CA0107-109 pressed penny set was placed onstage. At last, a cool pressed penny set featuring Mickey, Tinker Bell, Minnie... and a pressed quarter set, both with the new DCA 10th Anniversary stampback!

The Treasures machine offered the only 10th Anniversary pressed penny set and Rushin' River the only 10th Anniversary pressed quarter set.
